This portrays the Nooligan asunintelligent and uneducated because of the us e of run-in and grammar,because the poem gives us an impression that Nooligan isnt the typeof person who would work awkward (he doesnt give a toss), Im notsurprised at the hooligans English. The use of slang by the hooliganin Street Boy is the word hark instead of listen or hear andstompin instead of walking. The make that these two words put onus are that we alternate to think that the boy actually does have somepower and attitude, and we call back that he actually is the bully thathes talking about. But at the equivalent time, the use of these slang wordsmakes the characters appear to be foolish and idiotic. some other similarity that the poet employs in the two poems is that inboth of them, the first line of each verse is the sa... ...he is. The words stompin, silence, spaced,stoned all show that.In conclusion, the two poems are very interesting and spicy interms of the use of words, tone, structure etc. The poets RogerMcGough (Nooligan) and Gareth Owen (Street Boy) use sp ecifictechniques to give the poems a certain effect. There are differencesand similarities between the two obviously. The main similarity is thepoets use of slang and an incorrect form of English and the maindifference is the language and vocabulary between the two poems.Something worth mentioning is that the poets have made the poemsrelate to all teenagers in general since the name of the Nooliganand the Street Boy arent given. So overall, there are a lot ofsimilarities and differences between the two, but both are to the allude and give you a general idea of what the poem is about.
